Billy Monama presents the 3rd edition ‘Back To The Future’ concert, taking place on the 02 March 2024 at Joburg Theatre. This concert is a one night only concert that plays like Monama’s auto-biography, reflecting on his musical journey by looking into the future. The concert offers a unique journey that echoes Monama’s musical voice and inspires the audience to embrace the future with optimism and a renewed sense of identity.

“Back to the Future” is a powerful year start and immersive concert experience that aims to restore hope, heal spirits, and reconnect people with their musical heritage. The concept of Back to The Future concert it is designed to be the first concert of the that prepares the spiritual well-being of the society for the year.

Through its diverse configurations and the collaboration of numerous talented artists, Monama invited award winning songwriter and singer, Brenda Mntambo. The eight configurations presented in the concert represent different aspects of Monama’s artistic expression and experiences:

– “Genesis” explores the beginning of his career and the influences that have shaped him as a musician.
– “Black Consciousness” delves into themes of identity, empowerment, and social justice.
– “Tribute to South African Women” Monama invites special guest artist Brenda Mntambo to pay homage to the stalwart women and also to reflect on Human’s Rights month and South African 30th democracy.
– “Tribute to the Masters” pays homage to the legendary composer and guitarists who have inspired Monama throughout his life.
– “Intercession” focuses on the spiritual aspects of music and its ability to transcend boundaries.
– “The Love Corner” explores themes of love, relationships, and human connection.
– “Afrocentric Corner” celebrates African culture, rhythms, and traditions.
– Finally, “Revelations” offers a glimpse into Monama’s new compositions for the future and his hopes for the nation.

Monama strongly believes that in order to have a clearer perception of the Present, in our pursuit of the Future, it is imperative that we meaningfully reflect onto the Past.
