The Production is set between 2012 and 2019 in a Democratic South Africa which is the defining years of the government of the day (the fifth democratic government). Cadre Moswaswi is one of the electorate constituents, and is about to be sworn in as the new acting National Police Commissioner. Moswaswi suffer from schizophrenia which causes him to lose touch with reality. He serves under a corrupt and power hungry government. He is often caught between serving his master (President) and the people, as such this causes internal conflict. He is a father to Sibongile Moswaswi, a third year University student for happens to be in the forefront of Fees Must Fall movement. Moswaswi finds himself in constant war of words between himself and his lesbian daughter who daily challenges his ideologies or that of his master regarding the state of education within the country. As Moswaswi is a deeply rooted in culture, he has not accepted the fact that his daughter is in love with another woman. He considers her, half a woman. On the other hand, Moswaswi has to deal with Mmakgatso Hluphekile, a widow who lost her husband during the Marikana massacre. All that she seeks is emotional healing and for the state to take accountability and for justice to be served to those Police men who murdered her husband. Mmakgotso narrates the story of her husband between the two of them just before he left home. She alludes to Moswaswi that, just like any man, Ntandokabawo Hluphekile had plans for his wife and child who is in matric. He struggles to be a good father, a good husband to his wife, a carrying human being and an intelligent yet schizophrenic politician. Because he is used to living large, he ends up doing exactly what the master tells him, because he knows very well that should he double-cross him, he will easily be dealt with and might or will lose everything he has worked hard for. He tries to break free from the political leash however he finds it virtually impossible due to the pressures he faces. Seeing no end in sight, he resorts to committing suicide as the only way to find an ending to a life of tragedy.
