This programme will prepare you for the ABRSM music theory exams, from Grade 1 to Grade 5 (Level I-II).
Starting from Grade 1, you will be guided on pitches, note values, accidentals, as well as other common music symbols that you see on music scores. All the way through to Grade 5, which will explore more challenging concepts like irregular time signatures, compound intervals, triads, figured bass and some simple harmonic analyses.
The lesson contents will be presented in a way that closely matches the ABRSM exams’ syllabi. This programme will not only prepare you for ABRSM exams, but will also help you understand the fundamentals of music theory.
Students wanting to study music at tertiary level must be able to read music at a grade 5 level.
