Rapper, Producer Solo has proudly announced the first hip hop theatre play that is set to take place at Joburg Theatre this December.
The Dreamers ABC’s is the production set to take place at the Joburg Theatre on Sunday 15 December, Tuesday 17 December and Wednesday 18 December; The Dreamers ABC is cleverly named in-line with his album trilogy which he completed earlier this year with the release of C Plenty Dreams.
The Production is the first Hip Hop story that will be told on stage with the narrative derived from Solo’s 3 albums. It is a theatrical depiction of Dreams A Plenty; Dreams B Plenty and C Plenty Dreams. It will be a collaboration between himself and the Johannesburg theatre, to present an artistic and modern format of storytelling in Hip Hop and theatre.
The show will feature songs from all three albums with some special guests expected to join Solo for this first time ever, hip hop theatre experience.
Solo shared his excitement with friends and media in this statement – “Hip Hop is has always been a big narrator to my life as seen or heard through all my albums. What we have decided to do together with the Johannesburg Theatre, is to bring this story to the theatre stage. I’m a huge fan of theatre and I’m so excited to venture into this production with music from my catalogue as the lead.”
