We at Joburg Theatre pride ourselves in creating an all-round entertainment experience for you. It is for this reason that Joburg Theatre has its own Catering and Hospitality team resident at the theatre.

Joburg Theatre boasts six hospitality suites for your functions with sumptuous décor and sweeping views of the Joburg City skyline. These rooms are also available for hire for company workshops, board meetings, private lunches, seminars, award presentations, media conferences, etc.

The catering and hospitality team will discuss and arrange all your hospitality requirements. All Covid regulations are strictly adhered to and monitored.

Please note that, in order for the theatre to provide a consistency of service in this regard, no food or beverages can be served or brought into the complex (including sponsored items) without first making arrangements with the catering and hospitality team.

The Mandela private room

This is one of the premiere venues at Joburg Theatre. Nestled between the foyer and The Mandela Theatre, the Mandela private room is an intimate venue of velvet sophistication and is ideal for hire when purchasing the VIP Box in The Mandela, or for an elegant cocktail party.

The Brickhill

Dedicated to Joan Brickhill, this cocktail-style venue caters for up to 30 guests cocktail style, and 15 guests for a meeting.

The Broadway & The Hugh Masekela (dedicated to the memory of Bra Hugh)

Style and elegance are words synonymous with both these venues. Almost identical in design, these two suites are adorned with a magnificent solid mahogany dining table that can accommodate up to 8 guests in a boardroom or 10 guests for a seated breakfast, lunch or dinner setting.

The West End

This venue has been recently refurbished with a contemporary ‘gallery-like’ edge. It’s fresh, spacious and very sexy. Its wooden floors add to the crispness of this venue which becomes the perfect backdrop for a conference, company party or a celebratory cocktail before, during or after the show.

Sophiatown (previously known as The Penthouse)

This venue boasts one of the most spectacular panoramic inner-city settings and caters for up to 60 people – this open space can be tuned to many different purposes to create the ideal setting for your needs.
