The Joburg Choral Music Festival is one of the flagship cultural initiatives of the City of Johannesburg aimed at stimulating choral music development and is also part of the broader strategy to promote creative industries within the City.
The City of Johannesburg Choral music programme was inaugurated during the 2017- 2018 financial year. The following choirs participated UJ Choir, the event was held on the 30th of June 2018 at the Orlando Communal Hall. Each choir rendered two items and at the end of the festival all choirs ascended the stage to perform a mass song on the day.
